A Beautiful Family Wedding at The White Hart, Lydgate

Caroline & Michael

Caroline and Michael didn’t overcomplicate things — just a cracking venue, a great crowd, and the kind of day that makes you want to do it all over again.

The day started bright and early with Caroline getting ready in the charming on-site cottage. It’s tucked away from the main hotel, so she could relax and get glammed up without any chance of bumping into guests before the ceremony. Hair, makeup, fizz — the full works, all in a cosy space just a stone’s throw from the action.

Meanwhile, Michael arrived looking sharp with his groomsmen, and they headed straight to the bar for a quick pre-wedding pint. Classic move.

As guests gathered in the Oak Room, Michael took his place at the top of the aisle. Caroline made the short walk from the cottage, completely owning it – cool, calm, and ready for the day ahead. The ceremony was lovely, with meaningful readings and a brilliant first kiss that had everyone grinning.

Afterwards, everyone spilled out into the beer garden to enjoy the afternoon sun — drinks flowing, kids playing, and guests catching up. I took some relaxed family photos and loads of natural candids (my favourite kind).

Later, I snuck off with Caroline and Michael for a short wander just across the road. We walked through the churchyard and along a nearby footpath with amazing views over the Cheshire valley – on a clear day you can see right across Manchester. It’s the perfect little spot for wedding portraits without dragging you miles away from your guests.

Back at the venue, it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. And wow — these ones were good. Equal parts emotional and hilarious, with just the right amount of roasting.

As the sun went down, the band kicked things off and the dancefloor filled up fast. Caroline and Michael had pulled together such a great day — full of personality, brilliant people, and proper good vibes.
